Auto Insurance Reduction

Auto insurance companies base your insurance rates on many factors. A key factor in determining your risk as a driver is your official California DMV driver record.

Every time you receive a moving violation, points are added to your DMV driving record, resulting in higher insurance rates until the points are automatically removed three (3) years from when they were issued.

You can avoid all of this by taking our California online traffic school course, which essentially blocks the traffic ticket and points from going on your DMV driving record in the first place. This keeps your DMV driving record clean and your insurance rates low.

In some cases, auto insurance companies will offer a rate reduction of up to 10% for simply voluntarily finishing our California online traffic school course. You can find out if our California online traffic school can reduce your auto insurance rates by contacting your insurance agent and asking if a discount program for voluntary traffic school is available.

Course Benefits

Drivers who participate in our California online traffic school course will benefit in several ways. We are Court-approved, so you can be certain your online traffic school course completion will be honored.

Traffic citations have points attached to them. The conviction typically appears on your official California DMV driver record, as will the point, and this can lead to a suspension of your driving privilege. Upon successful completion of our California online traffic school course, the point will NOT appear on your DMV driving record, your traffic ticket will be dismissed and your official DMV driver record will stay clean.

Additionally, points on your official California DMV driver record can lead to increased auto insurance premiums. So attending our California online traffic school course can save you money!

Your employer may also require you to complete our online traffic school program to reinforce safe driving habits and enhance your knowledge of traffic laws. You may also take our California online traffic school course voluntarily at any time should you desire a refresher course on traffic safety.

Parents take note: many of our customers have their teenagers take our California online traffic school course as a way of helping to ensure their safety behind the wheel.

First Time User

If you've never attended California online traffic school course before, don't worry, we have over 6 years of experience making online learning as simple and trouble-free as possible.

Drivers of all ages take our California online traffic school course for two reasons:

  1. Voluntarily - because they have been cited for a traffic violation and they want to keep that conviction point off their official California DMV driver record, to receive an auto insurance rate reduction, or to simply refresh their knowledge of traffic safety.

  2. Involuntarily - because they have been ordered by the Court or Judge to do so.

Depending on your Court, you will be given from one (1) to three (3) months to complete our California online traffic school program. Additionally, some Courts will allow you to request a traffic school due date extension.

After you submit satisfactory proof of traffic school completion before your traffic school due date, your traffic citation will be dismissed by the Court. If you sign up for traffic school and fail to file the traffic school completion certificate by your traffic school due date, the traffic school administrative fee you paid will be deemed as bail and forfeited, and DMV will be notified of the traffic conviction.

The Point System

All moving violations have points attached to them. Most are one (1) point violations (speeding, illegal turn, stop sign, etc). The more serious violations are two (2) point violations (for which you may NOT take this California online traffic school course unless ordered or allowed to do so by the Court). An excessive number of points on your official California DMV driver record will result in your driver's license being suspended or revoked.

You will lose your driver's license if your DMV driving record shows:

  • 4 points in a 12-month period

  • 6 points in a 24-month period

  • 8 points in a 36-month period

We urge you to do everything possible to keep points off your DMV driving record, which means obeying all traffic laws, driving defensively and completing our California online traffic school course, which will keep that point off your DMV driving record and protect your driving privilege.

Are You Eligible?

To be eligible to attend our California online traffic school course:

  1. Your traffic violation must be a one (1) point violation. If you were cited for a more serious two (2) point violation like DUI, reckless driving, speeding over 100 mph, speed contest, hit-and-run, etc., you are NOT eligible to take our California online traffic school course unless ordered or allowed to do so by the Court.

  2. You must not have attended traffic school on another traffic citation issued within the last 18 months of your current traffic citation (unless ordered or allowed to do so by the Court). The 18 month period is calculated from the traffic citation/violation date, not traffic school class attendance date.

  3. If, in addition to your moving violation, you were cited for any mechanical, registration, driver's license or insurance violations, you must submit proof of correction to your Court before you are eligible to take our California online traffic school course.

  4. You must NOT be a juvenile.

Before you take our California online traffic school course, you must first pay to the Court both your traffic citation bail amount (your fine) and a non-refundable traffic school administrative fee. We, like all other traffic schools, will charge you a separate traffic school tuition fee to attend our online traffic school program.

Depending on your Court, you may pay the traffic school administrative fee:

  • On the Court website

  • By telephone

  • In person at the Court location marked on your traffic citation

  • By mail

If you do not pay the required bail and traffic school administrative fee, or are ineligible for an eight hour online traffic school course, your traffic school completion certificate may not be accepted by the Court.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question:
Is 365 Traffic School Court-approved?
Answer:

Yes. 365 Traffic School Court-approved California online traffic school course satisfies all Court and State requirements, while allowing you to study at your own pace from the comfort of your own home. It is the easiest and best way to attend traffic school in California.

Question:
Why go to traffic school?
Answer:

There are a few different reasons to do traffic school. The first reason is to stop a point from going onto your driving record due to a moving violation such as speeding or running a red light. Too many points can result in a license suspension, while even one point can result in an insurance rate increase. Another reason to do traffic school is to become a more responsible driver, lower your chances of being involved in an accident, and lower your chances of getting a ticket.

Question:
How quickly can I finish this course?
Answer:

The great thing about this course is that you work at your own pace. No one will sit over your shoulder to make you slow down or speed up, and there is no timer on the site. Everyone reads at different speeds, and this program will allow you to proceed at your own pace. The average completion time varies but is far less than an eight-hour traffic school class.

Question:
How long does it take to get the certificate?
Answer:

Courts throughout the State allow different ways of receiving the completion certificate. Because of security reasons, it is impossible for you to print your own certificate, so the original certificate must be sent directly from our office to either you or to the court. Some courts allow the original certificate to be sent directly to them from our office, while others request that you (the student) send it in. We comply with each of those requirements, accordingly. When you choose your court on the registration form, you will see which method your court requires.

Question:
I thought I paid for traffic school at the court?
Answer:

Unfortunately, the typical $24, $29 or $30 fee that you paid to the court did not pay for any specific traffic school course. What the court calls a "traffic school" fee is simply a court administration fee, which gives you the privilege to take a traffic school program like ours. Traffic schools are a private industry and whether you sit in an eight-hour class or choose a home study program, you will need to pay for it separately.

Question:
How much is the course?
Answer:

Our everyday low price is just over 4 dollars per credit and includes everything - the program, the original certificate, regular processing and delivery to the court or to you, respectively.

Courts in some counties require that your identity be verified by a third party. In the following counties, you may either attend a test site or have your identity verified online: Alameda, Kern, Sacramento, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Stanislaus, El Dorado, Madera, Nevada, Orange, San Bernardino, Tulare and Tuolumne for a small fee of $10. If you choose to use the online verification method, some of the data that you submitted will be verified, and you will be asked random questions about your credit history. You may then proceed with the final exam if you answer correctly, and your completion certificate will be mailed to you. If you do not, you will have to attend a test site. Note that this check will not appear on your credit nor reflect on you negatively, and at no time will we have access to or keep your confidential information.

If you received your citation in any of the following counties: Glenn, Lake, Lassen, Napa, Santa Cruz and Ventura your court requires third party testing and identity verification. There may be an additional fee involved with this process depending on your choice of verification. When you go to the final examination you will be apprised of this process.

Question:
How can I pay?
Answer:

You can pay for the course two different ways, either by credit card or by check/money order. After you fill out the registration form, you can be linked to a completely secure credit card page where you pay quickly and effortlessly. The site is encrypted to make your online purchase safe. The other way to pay for the course is to mail a check or money order to the address listed below. Make sure to send the check before you complete the course and at least a week before your completion date. We will not send a certificate without receiving payment.

Question:
Am I eligible for internet traffic school?
Answer:

When you click on the registration link you will see a list of approved courts. If your court is not listed, you may still be eligible to take traffic school on the Internet. Simply call the court that issued the citation or go there in person and request permission to take our course. If given permission, whether it is verbal or written, get the person's name that gave you the permission and the court address where we should forward your completion certificate. On the registration form under the court listing, choose "other" and enter the name and address of your court in the appropriate box.

Question:
What if my deadline or due date has passed?
Answer:

All of the courts throughout the State are run a little differently. Some require that you pay for your ticket prior to granting permission to do traffic school. Other courts have you attend traffic school first and then turn in your certificate with your bail amount. Either way your court handles it, you are given completion/due dates and these dates are to be taken seriously. If you're due date is within a few days or is past due, you may wish to contact the court and request an extension. Many courts grant extensions and will work with you to allow extra time to complete your traffic school obligations. *For regular processing, please complete our program at least five day prior to your due date.

Question:
How do I register for this course?
Answer:

Registration for this course is quite simple. You can return to our home page and click on the button that says, "Register Online". Just fill out the form completing all appropriate boxes and then get started right away. You may also call us at 866-537-4835 during normal business hours to register on the phone. Can I use someone else's computer or internet service?
Answer:

That is what makes this course so easy and great! You can take this from home, work, a friend or family's house, your local library, or you can even rent time on the internet at a copy/computer center. Whatever computer you use, you simply need Internet access. You can also start on your own computer and then finish on another. *This program also works with WEBTV.

Question:
